First look: BMW’s potent new 7 Series flagship
BMW has revealed the first photos and technical specifications of its new fifth-generation 7 Series flagship ahead of an expected public debut at the Paris motor show in October. Expected to arrive in Australia in around the second quarter of 2009, the new 7 Series will introduce a number of new technologies and features, widespread use of aluminium to keep weight in check and the stonking twin-turbocharged V8 engine with direct fuel-injection that will soon debut in the X6.

SKODA arrived last year with the Octavia in a multitude of variations, one of which is the 4x4 Wagon. The mid-size Euro wagon shares much with the Volkswagen family, including its Golf drivetrain, but is the only Volkswagen Group passenger car available here in diesel all-wheel drive wagon configuration. It provides a value alternative to the mainstream and is worth a look from those who need all-wheel grip and diesel economy, but don’t need the height and bulk of an SUV.
